I don’t think that Gov Romney has impressed on the country the dire financial picture that we face if the president is reelected. While he and Congressman Ryan are comfortable talking in $ Billions and $ Trillions, these are not meaningful to the average person sitting around the kitchen table. What if the numbers are brought down to something in the average person’s life experience. I divided the US #s by 50,000,000.
Suppose a family’s finances looked like this:
To fund this irresponsible spending, the family must add $22,000 to their credit card debt this year. Suppose that they already had debt of $320,000 and were taking cash advances on their Visa to pay the Discover bill.
This would seem crazy enough, but what would you be saying about their behavior if their plans were to add more than another $22,000 in debt every year for the next decade and increase their spending.
This is what President Obama plans to continue. Could anyone afford to live this way? If he was your financial planner would you rehire him or would Clint Eastwood’s solution be better:
“…when somebody does not do the job, we got to let them go.”
