Well, over this last weekend, we pretty much found out the answer to the title of this and another post… According to news reports, 8 protesters and 12 police officers were on hand last evening. That would be .0000094% of the population not exactly the 99%. It seems that there have been more column inches of news print spent on the the “protests” than there have been protesters. Ouch.
Look, I am in total sympatico with the effort to end crony capitalism in Delaware & the U.S. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who first warned of the growth of the military-industrial complex. That “cabal” has clearly morphed into a banking-global corporation complex, which has overly large influence on an overly powerful Washington government through regulatory capture and paid access. This blog has been very active and consistent in publicizing this problem and listing potential solutions.
It is in that last point where the Occupiers come up short. They have no plan other than to whine. In Delaware in particular, it is the Occupiers political party that is in total control of Wilmington, New Castle County & the State. Maybe, the Occupiers have been supporting the wrong politicians. Maybe those politicians have been playing you for suckers. To restate Pogo, “You have met the enemy, and he is you…”
