Well, the p0litical parties can always use a good issue to raise money. Here are excerpts from some recent emails:
Today’s update: John Boehner and his “Hell No” Caucus are STILL refusing to compromise – risking our nation’s economy in a outlandish attempt to tie it to President Obama. Now Rove’s carrying their water with attack ads in key battleground states.
We will fight back, but we need to raise another $70,000 by Sunday to keep this Emergency Media Campaign going. Can you chip in $5 or $10?
Thanks for your help. We’ll continue to keep you posted on what Boehner’s up to.
And from the other side:
The only way Republicans can right our ship and get America on a sustainable path to economic growth and prosperity is to expand our majority in the U.S. House, recapture the U.S. Senate and elect a Republican president in 2012.
Stephen, the best way you can help Republicans win the fight for America’s future is by joining the one organization that is doing more than any other conservative group to elect GOP candidates at all levels of government and make Barack Obama a one-term president . . . The Republican National Committee (RNC).
Please make a secure online contribution right now of $25, $50, $100 or more to affirm your commitment to our cause and provide the campaign support Republicans need to end the Obama Democrats’ liberal power grab in Washington that is leading our nation to economic ruin.
These are the most recent solicitations that I have seen but there have been plenty. The D’s have sent higher dollar ones as well, but these are the only two I had not yet deleted.
“It is an ill wind that blows no one some good.” I would attribute this quote but I don’t know the author.
