In Apocalypse Now, deep in the jungle of Vietnam or Cambodia, Chef leaves the boat to get some food to cook. After almost being eaten by a tiger, he stammers back to boat saying “Don’t ever leave the boat . . . ” again and again.
Unfortunately, those who live and drive in Wilmington might have to come up their own version. “Don’t ever leave a main street” might be considered.
From today’s News Journal:
Wilmington police said the driver was traveling in a 1992 Buick when two youths emerged from in front of parked cars on motorized scooters and the car struck them.
Capt. Nancy Dietz said an angry mob tried to pull the driver and passenger from the car, and an unknown person fired six shots into the car’s trunk. No one was hit by any bullets. The driver fled for safety and called police, Dietz said. Police are still investigating the case.
