The town of Ocean View, DE (population 1,600) is proud to announce the wasting of $458,000. Fortunately it is not real money, it is only federal and state grant money. They are going to be installing solar panels on the Wallace A. Melson Municipal Building and are just tickled that, “We’re not chipping one penny or dime into it,” he [the town manager] said. “We’re actually seeing it pay off on Day 1 moving forward.”
Lets see, $458,000 divided by 25 years, which is a very generous estimate on the useful life of this junk, leads us to $1,500 per month. Do you really think that they will be generating $1,500 worth of electricity per month in clear weather during the day. As far as job creation is concerned, I think that it would be best measured in how many man-hours of employment it produces because it won’t be more than a few weeks worth.
I think that they would be better off installing a wood stove and burning the dollar bills in it to save on heating bills. But I forgot, this is only pretend money borrowed from the ChiComs and Oil sheiks that we will be paying back with interest.
What imbecile thought that this was a good idea? Did they miss math class when they did “guzintas”? As in $458,000″guzinta” 300 months 1,500+ times?
As I have said before, I hope that someone is getting a kickback because crooked can be cured with a pair of handcuffs, but in government stupid is forever.
