I did a post back in March about Christine O’Donnell’s 2008 website that was purchased by Warren Redlich when her campaign let it expire. The post generated some great comments and it was nice that Mr. Redlich found our blog and participated.
I reached out to Mr. Redlich today to see if anything has happened since March. He was kind enough to give me an update and let me know there have been no more encounters with the Christine O’Donnell Thugs. Mr. Redlich continues to update christineodonnell08.com and it has been fairly quiet until the past week or so. There was a drastic spike in traffic when some Tea Party folks started endorsing her (around 8/30) and he shared a couple Google Analytics reports.
The first report is an overview that shows visits and sources. You’ll see that the site was pretty much dead until Aug 30th:
The theory is that most of these users were searching for her campaign website after hearing about her on the radio or web.
Here are the top traffic sources and they keywords people were using in their searches:
5,376 of the 5,745 visits came from the US and the second report gives the breakdown by state:
You’ll see Delaware had 404 visits – about 7% of the total traffic to the site. People from Delaware also spent a little more time on the site (68 seconds vs the 36 sec average) and the bounce rate was slightly lower (59.16% vs the average 65.01%).
Not sure exactly what this all means, but it correlates with what others have said about her lack of in-state backing and the Tea Party Express boosting her campaign.
Oh yeah, you might notice above that 383 visits came from electoral-vote.com. I found the page that is driving that traffic and this is the photo they use as the link to the 2008 website:
Who wouldn’t want to click on that?
