I. Matt Denn proclaimed today he has no way to determine the number of jobs saved by the stimulus.
Hmmm, I’m surprised because with a pencil and a notebook one could ascertain such a figure.
Here’s how it works: have all department chairs in gov’t for a list of positions that would have gone vacant without stimulus money thereby causing lay off’s. Total the position’s and there you have it.
Wait, I stand corrected Governor Begatto didn’t allow any lay off’s so no jobs were actually saved because they weren’t going anywhere anyhow.
So this now creates the question of where did the stimulus money actually go?
II. Today at one the public will see once again how our school’s test scores are in the tank. Again. (for the record it’s not the teacher’s; it’s home situations that for a huge number of reason’s don’t/can’t/won’t value education)
Also 10 traditional school’s will be selected for one of four putative action’s. However today at the state board meeting’s executive session the question will be asked what about failing charter school’s who are mid-term in their 4 year charter. Do they get forced into a district? Do they get forced into having new board members selected by DOE, etc.
Stay tuned. DSEA will have the last laugh as pay off for going along with RTTT.
