Here we are:
the feds wanna give states ALOT of money for education if they meet some criteria dealing with points, etc.
One the criteria is to be pro-charter including providing capital funding. For all charters getting the funds for the building is the 2nd biggest obstacle, after getting the charter.
DSEA is anti charter and has always relied on the fact that DE law specifically discriminates against charter applicants by not allowing a penny for capital funding.
The state is in the red – who knows how much – and that federal check sure would help out. (like the stimulus no one really will know how it’s spent)
Yet the first round of federal money is doled out in January and there is no way in an election year that the General Assembly will get anywhere near even talking about cpaital funding for charters.
The plot thickens.
