I understand that it is settled science that anything that is wrong in the economy is inherited or due to the Bush administration and that any improvements are due to Obama’s policies. This is as settled as “man made global warming.” Consensus has been reached; got it.
But I started wondering, now that we are well past the halfway point of President Obama’s term, when we should expect it to officially change from being the Bush Economy and become the Obama economy.
It seems that this will be when employment rebounds, consumer confidence increases, the gdp turns around, the dollar strengthens, corporations begin to repatriate their offshore funds… In short, we will know that we are in the Obama economy and that his policies are responsible when everything has turned around.
Until then it will remain the Bush economy unless a Republican is elected, in which case everything becomes his or her fault immediately.
