Today the Christina School District had inservice for teachers.
The presenter claims education is malleable. Kids with disabilities can achieve with their their hgher functioning peers. The less fortunate can rise to the expectation if “the teacher does more.”
PLEASE note that higher standards are good. Kids with challenges can do more if challenged but there is realism which if not addressed causes frustration and maddening disappointment for all..
He’s also wrote a book.
He also got paid alot of money thamks to our taxes.. 500.00 says Christina never line items his expense. (They go for a referendum tax hike in May. I’m voting no)
So…… a good Republican friend who teaches Special Ed kids calls him out on his challenege to”show any of them howto make their kids acheive higher.”
She invited him to her classroom to model his techniques for success.
Dead silence. He stammered and the teachers gasped for air.
He fluttered. He fawned. He stammerred more and then he stutterred.
……………………………and he didn’t accept the offer.
During the break she was cautioned that she was making her principal look bad.
She’s tenured and her husband does well so ‘she’s “safe”.
Other’s aren’t and we pay for this.
I thought the current Businessman Governor was going to end this BS.
I was wrong.
Where’s Rodel?Where’s Vision 2015?
I know where our tax money went today. To a consultant. NOthing has changed.. Just like with anti boozing tax but take the free plane for free Ruth Ann Minner; the educational emporer still has no clothes.
I shudder to think that this kind of crap is what Rodel is ‘envisioning’ for bringing change to Delaware. Their first priority is – to ‘educate’ administrators and teachers. Is this the kind of ‘education’ that the RTTT money will be providing?
No to the referendum. Don’t show CSD the money until they show us some transparency in spending
Agreed on all points!
One has to wonder how we get so many consultants that know so much more than our classroom teachers and who are paid big bucks. Perhaps they should teach in our colleges.
