Congratulations to the Governor and Lt. Governor for finally taking the “stimulus” fund expenditures seriously. I have blogged about this on two previous occasions, questioning the $200,000+ dollars being spent on Vince Meconi and the Lt. Governor’s office while “stimulus” funds were being allocated to the 99th Congressional District and worse. WBOC in Kent/Sussex Counties also tagged the administration for failing to maintain appropriate controls.
Kudos to the Administration for finally realizing the this was a gaping problem that needed to be fixed. Better late than never, and I’m glad that Resolute Determination had a role in forcing better government in Delaware. Not good government, mind you, but better government — of course, including the Lt. Governor and former Sec. Meconi, this is now the 3rd person that the administration has put in charge of watching this pork.
Is merconi still under the employ of the state?
I withhold my kudos until I see what information they provide to the public. This year our state legislators passed a law requiring school district to post information, in Red Clay they have posted less than 25 percent of the expenditures. I have written the Senate and HR Education Committee Chairs twice and they have ignore my request for them to obtain a legal opinion if Red Clay is in compliance with the law. I also wrote the President of the Red Clay School Board, who has not replied.
I must conclude since they have refused to reply, Red Clay is not in compliance.
Just think Charlie if you would’ve only won, you could have appointed whoever you wanted to over see it.
Yup!
Maybe, if they keep hiring people, they can spend all the stimulus pork on people watching the stimulus pork. That would be a Keynsian utopia of ineffectiveness.
